Google Assistant is Google’s virtual helper that enables you to achieve what you want faster. Instead of having to do it manually. This feature by Google is accessible on mobile and smart home devices. Now Samsung has announced that the feature will be launched in Samsung TVs. Keep reading to know more.

Google Assistant coming to Samsung TVs in 12 countries by the ending of the year. The ultimate feature will now be accessible on Samsung’s 2020 TVs. In 12 countries by the end of the year. Including France, UK, Germany, and Italy too, Samsung announced.

This follows the release of Google’s voice assistant on the TVs of Samsung last month in the US. Samsung also mentioned that it will launch in Spain, India, South Korea, and Brazil by late November. The voice assistant is accessible together with Samsung’s own Bixby voice assistants as well as Amazon’s Alexa.

Google Assistant can be used to control TV

Following what Samsung said, Google’s voice assistant can also be used to directly control the TV with commands like switching channels or adjusting the volume. Or else, it can control other compatible smart home devices of Google Assistant just like thermostats or lights.

You can as well demand information from it on the weather or to play music. One thing for sure is that it combines with other Google services just like Photos, Maps, Search, and Calendar.

Samsung’s 2019 TVs initially combined with Google Assistant, however back then users had to send their commands through a different device furnished with the voice assistant just like a Google Home smart speaker.

With the latest, models, although users can send voice commands directly to their TVs by pressing down the microphone button on its remote.

Samsung’s Bixby smart assistant

With the assistant of Alexa and Google feature now available, the Bixby smart assistant of Samsung looks so sidelined on its smart TVs. We can’t just think that people would choose to make use of it when Amazon’s popular assistants and Google’s own are now in-built.

If you are in an adaptable country and want to allow Google’s voice assistant, you can do that by going to its Settings menu, choosing “General” then “Voice” and lastly “Voice Assistant”. From there, Google Assistant can now be chosen as a voice assistant.

Samsung also mentioned that it is launching support on some models. The models include:

Crystal UHD TVs, all 2020 4K, and 8K QLED TVs, The Serif, The Terrace, The Sero, and The Frame.
