Dell has announced its latest XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 with Tiger Lake processors

Dell has announced its latest XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 with Tiger Lake processors. Both of the devices are being powered by 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors of Intel and they will be available on the 1st of October in Canada and the United States.

Whereas it will be available in other countries in the upcoming weeks. The XPS 13 is priced at $999 while the XPS 13 2-in-1 starts at $1,249. The new XPS was teased initially onstage at the Tiger Lake launch of Intel at the beginning of this month.

Dell

These upgrades majorly look like spec bumps. In addition to the latest processors by dell, the two models have gotten a memory update. They are both now running LPDDR4x at 4,267MHz, instead of the 3,733MHz. Just like so many other Tiger Lake flagships, they will as well allow for Thunderbolt 4 and also Xe integrated graphics of Intel.

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 has as well received a similar design to that of the early 2020 XPS. What you might expect in the new models is the new screen-to-body ratio. Dell has mentioned that the convertible display is up to 7 percent wider than those of the former generations.

You can also tell from the look that the bezels, especially those on the top and the bottom, have become smaller.

Dell announced also a “developer edition” of the XPS 13. It is a Linus based device as well as the very first laptop to be launched pre-installed together with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Dell is as well giving an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS download to anybody that has an XPS 13.

And would also wish to switch over their system, not regarding if they have a developer edition or not.

The new XPS 13

The latest XPS 13 by Dell is available in two colors. Either you go for the “platinum silver with black carbon fiber interior” or you opt for the “frost with arctic white woven glass interior”. The portfolio is a part of the Evo program of Intel.

Furthermore, Dell mentioned that all the line of XPS 2020 will come in “sustainably sourced” packaging that comprises reprocessed, ocean-bound plastics.

Update:

Updated to reflect that Dell said models will comprise of “platinum silver”, as well as “frost” colors. That the line is a part of the Evo program of Intel. And also that Dell has altered the date that the latest XPS systems will be up for sale. Starting from today, which is the 30th of September 2020 (as was earlier announced) to 1st of October 2020.
