Microsoft is planning on releasing a big Xbox app update for iOS which will enable users to stream Xbox One games to an iPhone. The company will soon launch a new Xbox app in the App Store which will include a remote play feature. The function of the remote play feature is that it allows Xbox One console owners to stream their games to an iPhone.
Remote play is not similar to the xCloud service, (that is it is different) which streams games directly from servers rather than streaming from your own Xbox One console. This Xbox remote play feature will connect only to your Xbox console, and not to xCloud.
This is not so different from the PS4 Remote Play feature of Sony which is as well available on iOS and Android.
One thing for sure is that you will be able to make use of an Xbox console over Wi-Fi, or even a 5G or an LTE connection also. This app takes charge of your home Xbox, you can remotely begin your console right from the comfort of your home, outside.
The Xbox will proceed with no sound or the Xbox light at the front. And immediately you disconnect, it returns to standby just after a short period of inactivity.
The New Xbox app by Microsoft
A new Xbox app has currently been launched on Android. And this upgraded version of the iPhone has similar new features as well as new designs. You can download or share game clips quickly. And also screenshots captured on an Xbox Series X / S console or an Xbox One. You can as well manage console space and delete games.
Another amazing thing about the new Xbox app is that it is so much faster than the other iOS version. Also, it has been overhauled completely to suit similar design changes that are being made over Xbox. It is all ready for the release of the Xbox Series X / S consoles in November.
And Microsoft is as well upgrading it’s Xbox dashboard with some design changes.
The Xbox app does not alter the situation of the xCloud
Though, the updated Xbox app of Microsoft does not alter the situation of the xCloud. Apple expanded an olive branch to currently enable services like xCloud and Stadia.
However, it added a big catch that would mean Microsoft would have to submit hundreds of games personally. As different apps making use of its streaming tech. Microsoft was not happy with the new rule that Apple made.
Microsoft is recently trying out this Xbox app with TestFlight members. That means that it should be generally available in the App Store very soon so that everyone can download it.
