Tesla has announced the date of its annual shareholder meeting and “battery day” for investors which is to hold on the 22nd of September. This meeting will take place at Tesla’s vehicle factory which is located in Fremont, California. However, the meeting is presumed to be live-streamed. Only the company’s shareholders are allowed to attend the meeting.
The meeting was supposed to hold on the 7th of July at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California. But due to the banning of large gatherings in California because of the COVID-19.
Tesla: Elon Musk’s Announcement
Elon Musk made an announcement a month ago that the meeting would be delayed. Tesla planned to have the shareholders to be present in the meeting in person and watch online.
He said at that time that it would “monitor travel safety and public health required protocols which the federal, state and local government recommended.
Elon Musk said previously that he was tentatively targeting the 15th of September.
Shareholders are slated to vote and voice opinions on a number of matters at the meeting. Matters like “if the company should start paying for traditional advertisement”.
Quite a massive number of Tesla’s board members are also up for re-election with chairwoman Robyn Denholm inclusive.
She was the one who took over after Musk was banned for three years from chairing any publicly-traded company which was in 2018. This is as a result of a settlement with the securities and exchange commission.
Earlier this year was the supposed time which the battery day event was originally supposed to take place. But it was also delayed because of the pandemic.
Tesla was expected to unveil a number of improvements and advancements in battery tech. This advancement could give it a greater advantage in surpassing other companies pursuing electric vehicles.
A month ago, Musk said that a tour of the company’s “cell production system” will be offered to attendees. This is kind of a reference to the secretive “Roadrunner” project of the company.
